I think it is well stated and gives great information:
http://drhyman.com/gluten-what-you-dont-know-might-kill-you-11/

Also, sounds like you are doing more then just a cleanse! Not all cleanses are created equal and unfortunately, some do give a bad reputation to the name and meaning of a cleanse or detox. Eliminating toxic foods (sugar and white flour!) along with foods that are high on the sensitivity and allergen list (gluten / dairy / soy) is a good idea. Keep us posted to what happens when you add them back in!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6072793635668894509.post-91299503927828131352011-03-18T18:20:01.530-07:002011-03-18T18:20:01.530-07:00Hey, don't be so hard on yourself. So frustrating. American restaurants kill me! My kids are out of school and I've been snacking like crazy. I've returned to drinking tons of water and watching portions more carefully the last couple of days. Makes a difference. Good luck with the cleanse.Pink in a sea of bluehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15530416819202521068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6072793635668894509.post-55711393259951439202011-03-18T13:33:42.639-07:002011-03-18T13:33:42.639-07:00It is frustrating how over the top restaurants pre...It is frustrating how over the top restaurants prepare their food with butter, oil, dressings, etc. don't fret the one meal though. I would definitely pay close attention to how you feel as you introduce gluten in our diet, or it could be even more narrow a sensitivity such as JUST wheat. You've stated that you get eczema, which many ppl have treated successfully by being GF. I myself have been suffering from hives for over a year. While my biopsies and testing have shown up negative for any gluten allergy or intolerance, they are not 100% so it is something that needs to be eliminated and worked through. It would be great to have concrete answers but it's just not that easy! Doing this cleanse myself, I can vouch that it's safe, and as you stated more an elimination diet than anything. I wish you the best of luck, you are doing great!

Also heres a link to a page with all sorts of tests for gluten sensitivity:
http://glutensensitivity.net/labcharts.htm

-BKAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6072793635668894509.post-53819400699587483292011-03-17T16:10:58.319-07:002011-03-17T16:10:58.319-07:00I am a follower and have liked reading some of you...I am a follower and have liked reading some of your posts in the past, but I am very opinionated about doing detox/cleansings-as I am a nurse and I know that they are not good for people. They help you lose quick weight, not gain healthy habits. I am also gluten-free, but because I have to be or i have extreme stomach aches constantly. It is not something that a person should do because they 'feel like it'. It is not a healthy diet to be on. If you want to try to increase your fruit and veggie consumption, that is one thing-and that is healthy. Trading whole wheat bread for a slice of gluten-free bread is a terrible exchange. GF bread is worse for you, it has very low fiber, does not taste as good. I have no idea what you were eating before but good whole wheat bread is much better for you, the same is true for GF pasta-regular whole wheat pasta is much better for you. Healthy habits are not easy to create, but are worth all the work. And sadly, gluten free is certainly not the answer-I hate it and I have had it for 7 years. I would love to be able to eat a regular diet. Just some thoughts to think about, KatieKatiehttp://zumbrorunner.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.com
