I did 4.25 miles and I felt ok, not great. The problem was I ate lunch and then ran, which just doesn't work for me. I did not give myself enough time to digest and I seriously thought I was going to puke a couple of times. So I had to slow myself down.
I also need to remember that it was my long run and that means it is just about getting the miles in. I realize 4.25 miles does not sound like a long run but i am building, next week 5 then 6 etc.
However we head for vacation on Friday and I don't believe I will be getting much exercise in. So I am going to try and get a workout in every day and maybe do something EXTRA with ironlady on thursday.
I did the triclass on Saturday and it was great to be back at it. We swam, then went to spin and finally we ran outside. I was tired during the swim the most but i felt really good when we were done with the run.
So have you every thrown up during a work out ? gross i know but i am curious. I have thrown up in a race once. It was HOT and I wore a black cotton TEE - don't ask right before the finish line I had to go to the side and puke, but i finished. it sucked.
never puked while working out. I hold back before I get to that point.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes with exercise on vacation or making up for it before hand!
have never done it during a workout, but have done so post. and a lot o people would say it's a good sign that you actually pushed yourself. no need to do it everytime, but great to push yourself to that limit from time to time.
ReplyDeleteI've felt like I was going to puke on a long run before, but didn't actually do it. NOTHING WORSE than that feeling. Ick. Also, you are so rocking this workout routine of yours, I am envious. I've been such a lame ass slacker lately. I'm signing up for a half marathon in July to force myself back into training.
ReplyDeleteTiming eating with running is so tricky! I have thrown up twice..once crossing a finish line after a 10k. I was taking cough medicine, which I think made me do it. The second time was after a mile repeat on the track. Not pretty!
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with your work out schedule.
ReplyDeleteI used to puke almost daily while running in college. Had my favorite spot at the track, nice, I know. Now I realize I don't need to push myself that hard. For heavens sake nothing is worth making myself throw up!!!!
ReplyDeleteNice job on the run. No, I haven't ever thrown up during a workout, but have come close to that feeling while doing intervals. Not fun!
ReplyDeleteLuckily, I have never thrown up on a run (knock on wood), but I have felt like it before. I can't run right after eating either...it really effects my stomach.
ReplyDeletePuked in my last race and been plenty close enough in some of my track workouts.
ReplyDeleteGood work on the run!
I have often felt like I was going to puke after a hard run! But never have . . . yet!
ReplyDeleteI really do best running in the morning on an empty stomach. Recently I ran on a Saturday morning a few hours after eating pancakes for breakfast. I felt awful and got horrible heartburn.
Have fun on your vacation!
I did the same thing- black on a hot day. It was a short run (maybe 3 miles) and right after I finished I puked. I lost it in the bushes in front of the courthouse where I work. It was one of many proud moments...
ReplyDeleteI puke if I eat before a run. The only thing that can go into my stomach is a Tbsp of Peanut Butter. That's it. If I eat anything, I'm DONE!
